Mayor Doria set to give a speech at the 2018 World Economic Forum
Mayor João Doria will be speaking at the 2018 World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland, which will happen between January 23 and 26. This initiative integrates a plan of action in order to broaden São Paulo’s leadership presence in this international event, which annually gathers businesspeople, politicians, and intellectuals to discuss global relevant issues.
His attendance was confirmed on April 5th, in a meeting with Klaus Schwab, founder and CEO of the World Economic Forum. The Mayor’s lecture will be presented during leaders’ lunch, which is moderated by Schwab and considered to be one of the main events of this Forum.
In the same meeting, the widening of São Paulo’s participation in the Brazilian delegation which will be going to Davos in 2018 was also discussed. Moreover, the organization of the 2018 Latin America World Economic Forum in São Paulo is currently also under evaluation. The 2017 edition of the regional forum lasted until April 7 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The World Economic Forum is a non-profit organization created in 1971, and whose headquarters are located in Geneva, Switzerland. In addition to the meetings, the Forum produces research reports and specific sectoral initiatives. The last conference, which went from January 17 to 20, brought together more than 3,000 world leaders.
